    LASER TREATMENT FOR FUNGAL NAILS

    Introducing the A.R.C FOX Laser. Laser treatment is the latest development in the treatment of fungal nail infections (onychomycosis).

    It is safe, effective and an easy alternative to topical treatments and oral medications. For this reason, laser therapy is gaining popularity and becoming the treatment of choice for many people with fungal nail infections.

    Laser treatment is safe with no systemic affects. It is fast and easy to perform. No local anesthesia is required; and it wont harm healthy nails or skin.

    This laser therapy works by photo-inactivation. Damage to the fungal cell wall and enzyme denaturing ensures that the fungal infection wont spread, resulting in new nail growth that is healthy and clear. Unlike the Cold Laser this laser kills fungal cells and increases blood flow to the toe promoting healing and healthy nail growth.

    After 2 treatments with the laser and 9 months of nail growth we see the damaged and infected nail growing out, while healthy new nail can grow freely from the base (eponychium).

    After 7 years of suffering from a deformed and painful thumb nail, 1 treatment with the FOX laser restored the nail to a healthy state. The pictures show 6 months of nail growth.

    After 2 laser treatments and 11 months of nail growth, we have a healthy nail to be proud of.

    We advise that prior to laser treatment the nails are trimmed and thinned out, this should be done by a podiatrist and ensures that the laser can sufficiently penetrate the nail plate and has the best chance of killing the fungal infection.

    Before and after treatment we recommend:

    • keeping nails short and clean;

    • using an anti-fungal spray or powder in enclosed footwear;

    • use anti-fungal washing liquid to clean socks or gloves; and

    • avoid getting pedicures and manicures at non-reputable beauty parlors - poorly sterilized tools and nail polish can spread infection from person to person.
